Donna Lamb (Hoffmeister)

Donna Lamb (Hoffmeister)

Donna Jean Hoffmeister, age 63 of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at a local hospital. Memorial Services will be scheduled for a later date.

Donna Jean Lamb was born February 4, 1952 in Rome, Georgia to Mack and Virginia (Ledford) Lamb. Donna was the youngest of three children, having two older brothers Joe and Tommy. She received her education in the Fort Pierce, Florida area and graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1970. Later that same year, Donna was united in marriage to Raymond Hoffmeister. The young couple remained in Ft. Pierce for the next nine years. During that time, Donna would be blessed with two children, Jennifer and Scott, both born in West Palm Beach, FL. In 1979, the family moved to Fargo, North Dakota because of career opportunities, but returned to Ft. Pierce in 1985. In 1997, Donna moved to Sioux Falls, SD and has been a resident since.

Donna truly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. The family knew she was always willing to listen to them, and not cast judgement. Donna would also “fight for what she thought was right”. One of the grandsons taught her how to play the video game “Animal Crossing”, and Donna quickly became addicted.

Those grateful for having shared Donna’s life are: daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Collings of Sioux Falls; son, Scott of Sioux Falls; grandsons, Ian, Jacob, and Quinn; brother, Joe Lamb of Dogwood, Illinois; and many other relatives and friends. Donna is preceded in death by: her parents, Mack and Virginia; and her brother, Tommy.
