Both Karen and Thomas were juniors at DMHS at the time of the accident.

Both Pictures were copied from the 1969 Annual .

I remember this very well.  Tommy Rogers was one of my best friends.  His sister Terry is still a friend of mine.  It was a rainy Saturday night and they were involved in an accident on Okeechobee Road in the area of McNeil Road. Our band was one of those that played lots of the teen dances at the Woodsmen of the World club on 29th Street (just north of the Women's Club).  Being so, we were around them and most of their friends very often.  His father, Russell Rogers became the Fire Chief  later. He is still alive and living in North Carolina.  I haven't seen Ione, the sister of the girls in years.  I think of Tommy everytime I hear the Moody Blues record "Tuesday Afternoon" because I had just loaned him my 45 rpm copy a couple days before this tragedy.  I am grateful to whom ever it was that brought this to the attention of the class.

The class can give Robbie Drumm credit for noticing there was no "In Memory"

for either Karen or Thomas . The Peterson girls are Robbie's kin-folk.

I was around then but don't remember it, or have just forgotten(old age).

May all 3 rest in peace !
