Joseph "Joby" Smith                      

 
Joseph "Joby" Smith, 59, died Sept. 25, 2011, in Fort Pierce. He was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce. He graduated from Dan McCarty High School in 1970. He was a sales representative for J&S Kitchen Supply of Fort Pierce. He was also a chef. Survivors include his brothers, O. Edward Smith of Jupiter and Mark George Smith of Fort Pierce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis G. Smith and Anita T. Smith. Services: A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Oct. 9 at Haisley Funeral Home. Eddy Reed

I'll always remember Joby as a wanna be "comedian."  Always joking around and looking for ways to make a buck.  He had a dive shop at 14th and Delaware where I would go and get my tanks filled.  He would talk forever if you would listen.  He really got his barbecue skills down pact and could really cook on the grill.  You were a good friend and will always be remembered.  Rest in peace.
