Rudolph Yearby

Rudolph Yearby, 57, died Oct. 7, 2008, at his home. He was born in Quitman, Ga., and lived in Louisville, coming from Fort Pierce. He served in the Army. He was a member of King Tyree Lodge 31 and a member of New Golden Star Missionary Church. He graduated from Dan McCarthy High School and was a senior letterman.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Yearby of Louisville, Ky.; sons, Nikita Z. Yearby and Rudolph Yearby Jr.; daughter, Birgitta Yearby; stepchildren, Delvin, Myra, Deron and Deshaun Hickerson; father, Walter Yearby of Port St. Lucie; and brothers, Alvin Yearby of Daytona Beach, and Lorenzo Yearby and Rufus Yearby, both of Fort Pierce. He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlie Mae Nelson; brothers, Louis Yearby and Eddie Yearby; and sisters, Geneva Collins; Emily Simpson and Emma Mae Williams.

SERVICES: A service was held Oct. 15 at New Golden Star Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville, Ky., with the Rev James Tennyson officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Garden Mausoleum Cemetery in Louisville. Out-of-town arrangements are by G.C Williams Funeral Home, Louisville. Local arrangements are by Sarah's Memorial Chapel. Richard Parker

Rudy was a great guy.  I remembrer him on the sideline at our football games smiling up into the bleachers.  He will be missed.
