I can't remember exactly what connected John and me when he moved to Ft. Pierce when his dad became our principal, but we became good friends.  We were like-minded about politics and I have fond memories of our passing out bumper stickers in the parking lot of Penney's for former Governor LeRoy Collins, who was running for U.S. Senate against Ed Gurney.  Collins lost, just like most of those John and I supported!  John went to UF and I went to FSU, but I remember going to a Sigma Chi party in Gainesville with him.  He had such a kind and loving spirit and I'm so sad that he died so young.
