We miss you Joey, I enjoyed growing up next door to you and all those "special conversations" at the bus stop

I remember getting the call, and how much Jude (Judy Thornton) and I cried.  It was one of the saddest days I have ever had.  I know that you and Jude are looking down and watching over me.  I miss you both so very much.

Joey, you were a funny guy who seemed to enjoy life so much. I remember your big smile. It is so sad that we do such stupid things when we are young that can cost us our lives. I wish you were still here.

Being a mother who's lost a child to a tragic killing, I empathize with Joey's parents. They were all such a sweet family. I went to church with Joey throughout our school years. He was ALWAYS smiling and joking, so much fun to be around.

In school I remember Joey as always being upbeat and fun to be around.  After graduation I would run into him around town and just joke about life in general .  He was always so positive and never seemed down about anything and that's one of the reasons I always enjoyed being around him.  I can still remember to this day as if it was yesterday, going to work at the FPPD and hearing that my good friend and classmate had died the night before. This was the first of many instances that made me realize that we have no guarantees in life.  Joey  --- rest in peace my friend.  You are truly missed.
